The JPEPL Rotating Horizontal Vacuum Filter, popularly called ‘Pan Filter’ is a continuous filtration unit ideal for handling large flow rates. The horizontal orientation of the rotary table enables a thick filter cake to form on the surface. It is a simple, rugged unit designed for economical dewatering and washing of a variety of granular and fibrous materials.
The JPEPL Horizontal Pan Filter belongs to the group of continuously operating sector type filters. Filtration is effected on a horizontal, circular surface (the deck) in the direction of gravity. The filter deck is subdivided into segments and rotates about a vertical axis.
The filter features a uniquely designed cake discharge system which utilizes an extraction scroll mechanism to remove the dewatered cake from the deck and deposit it into a hopper. After discharge, the filter cloths are carefully washed and the filtration process continues.
Applications/Features/Benefits
Applications
- Aluminium Hydrate
- Aluminium Trihydrate
- Chrome Ore
- Foundry Sand
- Glass Sand
- Caustic Salt
- Metal Powder
- Monosodium Glutamate
- Yellow cake
- Phosphate Rock concentrate
- Sodium Chloride
- Many more
Features
- Wide range of filter sizes (1 m2to 40 m2, 50 m2 and 60 m2 under development)
- Highest capacity per unit area due to maximum outlet areas through drainage deck and streamlined filter valve.
- Lower cake moisture due to high hydraulic and air handling capacities.
- High cake washing efficiency due to counter current washing in a single unit.
- The phenomena of ‘heel’ cake traps all the residual impurities so that well washed material is discharged.
- The heel cake gets mixed with fresh feed and gets washed in the next cycle.
- Efficient filter cake drying using steam hood
- Large diameter Slewing Ring type Pan bearing assembly.
- Hard-faced scroll discharges cake in fully continuous stream
Benefits
- Minimum Maintenance due to one-piece metal filter pan
- Fixed filter media supported on permanent drainage deck
- Pan bearing assembly isolated from process materials
- Positive clearance between filter valve and rotating pan wear plate for minimum friction wear
